About Our Story
A family history is never just names and dates-it's the heartbeats behind them.
Preserving Our Heritage Through Stories and Memories
My name is Frederick Schmieder, and I created this site to gather, preserve, and share the stories of the Schmieder-Beck family. As a grandson of George and Rosa Schmieder, I’ve spent years collecting photographs, documents, and memories so that future generations can know the people and places that shaped our family.
As a family, we hold close what G.K. Chesterton once observed: “The most extraordinary thing in the world is an ordinary man, and an ordinary woman, and their ordinary children.” That conviction guides this project. Here we try to honor those “ordinary” lives—immigrant, hardworking, and faithful—by preserving their history in meaningful stories and cherished memories.
Where Family Memories Find Their Place
Where Family Memories Live On
In farmhouses and small towns, families marked their lives by work, seasons, and faith—through births and deaths, baptisms and marriages, lean years and better ones. Much was never written down, but remembered and retold. Here, those memories are gathered and set down so they may endure beyond a single remembrance.
